The Illinois Federation for Right to Life Political Action Committee (IFRL-PAC) announces the endorsement of Randy Hultgren, for the nomination as Republican candidate for the Fourteenth Congressional District in the primary election to be held in March 2012.

The protection of the lives of conceived but yet unborn children of Illinois and the nation is the foundation upon which we build all other rights. If we do not restore and maintain protection of the Right to Life for the weakest and most helpless members of our society, we ourselves become endangered.

We are pleased to announce our endorsement of Randy Hultgren for nomination as Republican Candidate for the Fourteenth Congressional District. Not only has Mr. Hultgren expressed a desire to protect unborn children, but he has also indicated his support for the disabled as well as those who are endangered at the end of life.

The Illinois Federation for Right to Life is a statewide organization with local affiliates throughout the State of Illinois.

Woodstock, IL – U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren (IL-14) today visited a number of local government offices in McHenry County to meet officials and learn more about the needs of McHenry County.

“I’ve never had the privilege of representing McHenry County, so I’m using my campaign as an opportunity to meet local elected officials to learn more about the areas of need and priority projects,” said Hultgren. “As the campaign continues, I look forward to more meetings like these so that I can be a strong advocate for McHenry County and the rest of the 14th district as soon as I’m sworn in next January.”

Highlights of the visit include a tour of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and Corrections Facility with Sheriff Keith Nygren, a meeting with McHenry County State’s Attorney Louis Bianchi, and a meeting with representatives from the McHenry County Economic Development Corporation to discuss the county’s transportation needs.

Hultgren also visited one of McHenry County’s largest employers, Sage Products. During the site visit, Hultgren met with employees and members of the executive team.

“We must restore the certainty our small, local businesses need to expand and hire again if we want to get our economy back on the right track,” said Hultgren. “Visiting local companies like Sage Products is important because it gives me the tools and real-life stories I need to take back to my colleagues in Washington.”

For Randy Hultgren, the bulk of the economic problems facing Americans today boil down to one word:

Uncertainty.

Whether people are deciding whether to buy new homes or business owners are deciding to expand their company and hire more workers, they are awaiting some sense of what they can expect in coming months and years to make their investments worthwhile.

Wednesday, Hultgren, a Winfield Republican who represents Illinois’ 14th Congressional District, including Kane County, in the U.S. House of Representatives, shared his thoughts on the current state of the economy and of the political scene in Washington and Springfield, and what Kane County residents should expect from their capitols in the near future, during a ranging discussion with editorial staff at the Kane County Chronicle.

Hultgren is running for Congress in the redrawn 14th District in 2012, with the possibility of facing fellow conservative Republican U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh, R-McHenry, in what is expected to be a hotly contested primary election match.

Either Randy Hultgren or Joe Walsh will be McHenry County’s GOP nominee to represent it in Congress should a Democratic-drawn remap survive a federal court challenge.

Hultgren for the most part sidestepped questions about a contested primary between the two freshman congressmen and talked issues Monday during his first meeting with the Northwest Herald Editorial Board. The 2012 remap puts all of McHenry County except Algonquin Township into the 14th Congressional District, which Hultgren has represented since January.

Hultgren, a Wheaton native and married father of four, said he wants to focus on making the federal government leaner and making it more friendly to the small businesses that he says are key to growing jobs and economic recovery.

The main obstacles to job growth, Hultgren said, are overregulation and worry over the new health care rules being phased in. Hultgren said he supports common-sense workplace and environmental protection measures, but said government regulations are paralyzing job growth.

“The regulatory burden is over the top – it’s really an adversarial relationship between government regulators and small businesses,” Hultgren said.

For Jeff Keicher, the most important part of the electoral process is the connection between voters and their elected officials.

To help increase that dialogue, he opened the doors of his downtown Sycamore insurance business and invited U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren, R-Winfield, who represents Illinois’ 14th Congressional District, to casually meet and talk with residents Saturday morning.

“That engagement needs to occur at the ground level,” said Keicher, an insurance agent at Sycamore business. “No better dialogue occurs over a cup of coffee with elected officials.”

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren (IL-14) today issued the following statement after the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) voted to admit Palestine as a member of the organization.

“In granting Palestine membership, UNESCO acted recklessly and undercut the prospects for lasting peace in the region,” said Hultgren. “Instead of unilaterally seeking recognition through the United Nations, Palestinian leadership should return to the negotiating table and work to advance its cause through discussions with Israel.”
